I am a genealogist and downloaded many files at a library's internet data base when I was out of town. Now that I'm back home I can't open the files that I thought I downloaded as .png but actually are .jng extensions. Is there any way that I can open these files? Some of the files did download as png and those open and print out fine in preview.
If I didn't send this question to the right community, please put it where it needs to be.

While the editor is shareware, they have a free, standalone converter which may allow you to convert to png or jpg.
I had tried this prior to my asking for help, but after downloading it didn't open my file. I dropped the file into the box and it is blank. The 'info' says the file is 387,000 bytes, but nothing appears. Perhaps I did something wrong?
FWIW, you can try a free trial of GraphicConverter and see if that works. Honestly, I've never heard of .jng files until this post. It's certainly not common.
After a good nights sleep I tried this sight again, http://fileinfo.com/extension/jng. It was a very simple process to drop the file into their program, but it didn't open it. Alas..another program did http://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/
